Creating links
How to add links on pages across your site.
Often it's helpful to link to existing pages elsewhere on your site or outside your site that contain related content.
Adding a Link
Navigate to "Insert Link" in the Confluence Toolbar
From there, you can link an Internal or an External link by:
- searching for an existing link
- searching for recently viewed page
- searching for files
- searching for a web link
- inserting a link into page using wiki markup
In all cases, you will also enter "Link text" before you select "Insert"
Removing or Modifying Links
Select the link text on a page
- To remove:
- click on the link and select Unlink from the link properties toolbar
- To edit:
- click on the link and select Edit from the link properties toolbar and choose Save
- Find out more about the specifics around creating different kinds of links on Insert Links and Anchors
- Looking for the insert link keyboard shortcut?
- ⌘K
When inserting links, make sure you navigate to "Insert Link" and select from the options available.
If you, instead, insert a hyperlink directly onto a page, this link may break in the future as the page is updated or moved.
