Confluence Collaborative Editing, also known as Concurrent Editing, allows multiple users to

be editing

edit the same content at the same time.

Atlassian introduced this feature in Confluence 6.0.

Collaborative Editing functions in Theme Press only under the following conditions:

  • When there is ONLY ONE content block on the page (and there has never BEEN more than one block*)
  • When editing in "Edit Entire Page" mode**

This feature was introduced in Confluence 6.0 and can be turned on or off at the site level.

 * If a second block is added to the page, and subsequently removed, Collaborative Editing will not function.
** This mode is intended only for debugging and administrative actions (such as copying an entire page to another Confluence instance using two browsers), and can produce unexpected results.

Info

Collaborative Editing currently has limited functionality in a Brikit Theme Press environment, and is not yet recommended for enablement.

Exceptions include if:

  • a page has only one block, and has only ever had one block
  • editing in 'Edit Entire Page' mode (this mode is intended only for debugging and administrative actions)
Info

If using:

  • Replace me with something to note about this concept that falls outside the scope of the Definition section; and
  • Add the tight-bottom class to the Definition block above to narrow the gap between the two blocks.
