A taxonomy is a collection of terms (words), each of which represents some thing or activity of importance to your organization. Taxonomies are commonly used to label documents (i.e. Confluence pages) for the purposes of assigning meaning, organizing, and searching content. They are often valuable "sources of truth" for the official names of things (e.g. our taxonomy specifies that we refer to Theme Press as such, and not "ThemePress" or "themepress"). Individual terms in a taxonomy are often grouped into categories that represent a particular aspect or facet of the domain. This categorization helps keep taxonomy terms organized in a meaningful way.
