The Brikit Pinboards app provides a functionality that doesn't exist in out-of-the-box Confluence. With Pinboards, you can create pages that aggregate content from multiple locations on your site into Pinterest-like "tiles" view. Providing users with a view that is familiar can improve engagement and build an internal social network around business content.

How Pinboards works

The Pinboards Macro works with Confluence labels to determine which pages to include on your Pinboards page. It aggregates your content based on parameters you specify in the macro, including the spaces from which to gather content, and what type of content to take. The macro styles the resulting tiles. Pinboards uses the underlying social tools of Confluence to provide for likes and comments on each piece of aggregated content, using the behind-the-scenes Pinboards Attachment Macro to manage social comments.

What Pinboards can do

  • Create a Pinterest-like "tile" page on your site
    • Aggregate content from specific spaces or across your whole site
  • Allow users to comment and like on Pinboard page
    • Replicate comments back to original content from Pinboard page
