The space owner is a special association between a Confluence user and a Confluence space. Because out-of-the-box Confluence only shows you the creator of the space (who is likely an IT system administrator), the space owner, by contrast, can display its author, or manager, or primary contact. In other words, a more meaningful role suited to the needs of the business or organization. Additionally, by displaying the space owner with the Page Metadata Macro, one can achieve an actionable way for organizations to establish ownership of content, as well as enabling processes for managing and updating content across a space. |
