How to add links on pages across your site.

Often it's helpful to link to existing pages elsewhere on your site or outside your site that contain related content.

Adding a Link

Navigate to "Insert Link" in the Confluence Toolbar

From there, you can link an Internal or an External link by:

  • searching for an existing link
  • searching for recently viewed page
  • searching for files
  • searching for a web link
  • inserting a link into page using wiki markup

In all cases, you will also enter "Link text" before you select "Insert"

Removing or Modifying Links

Select the link text on a page

  • To remove:
    • click on the link and select Unlink from the link properties toolbar
  • To edit:
    • click on the link and select Edit from the link properties toolbar and choose Save

  • The insert link keyboard shortcut is ⌘K
  • When at all possible, insert links to other site pages via the editor (Insert Link) or the keyboard shortcut. This ensures the link will be updated if the page moves, or the title is updated.

If using:

  1. Replace me with something to note about this how-to entry that falls outside the scope of all other sections; and
  2. Add the tight-bottom class to the next visible/non-collapsed block above this one to narrow the gap between the two blocks.
