A date of publication used for display.
The publish date is a special metadata field provided by Content Flow th= at can be assigned to a Confluence page. Out-of-the-box Confluence automati= cally assigns two dates to every page: the creation date and the modificati= on date. However, these dates do not always reflect the needs of the conten= t. In particular, for pages that serve as news articles or official missive= s, the creation and modification dates may not meaningfully convey when som= ething was announced or took effect.
The publish date does not have any bearing on the visibility of content = or notifications, and it cannot be searched. It is to be used with the Page Metadata Macro for o= n-page display.
